A solution to mp3 piracy ?

16 05 2008

I’ve been hearing lately about web sites that allow you to listen any song online. These sites are especially country-based … so a web site only with albanian music for example. The idea is that you have free, legal and fast access to any song + a social network. It’s like a Hi5 or facebook with music replacing pictures.

I think it might help reducing piracy but still … Torrents and hubs rule this earth. They also offer free, fast access to ANY song ever played. And the legal part it’s not that serious. There are countries where buying music makes you the target of all your friends jokes.

Here’s an example of such a website. E-ok is the romanian side of this new concept.

Hm…quite interesting. I haven’t heard of these before. Good 2 know ;) Btw, it’d be quite challenging to have a debate about the economic legitimacy of piracy…kindda controversial, but u always have good sides and bad sides ;)

@ Florin Grozea- you can dw free music from here too, although the inconvenient is you can’t choose any kind of music; these are weekly charts powered by last.fm:
